HAPPENINGS OF THE NELSONS: Weekend Getaway

We decided to go to Arizona for Memorial weekend (May 23-27) to visit Tyler. The trip was AWESOME and way better than we thought it would go. We had to bring along Amika's frog potty, because right now that is the only place she will go potty. We stopped probably 5 times for her to go potty in it, but she went...and that's all that matters:) Rocky was by far the BEST traveler..he didn't complain 1 time, and he slept for the majority of the ride. We arrived at Ty's around 1030pm, and he had a pizza waiting for us. Taelin was fast asleep and stayed asleep...Amika however stayed up with us for about an hour.

THE BEST PART WAS THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS AT THE GAS STATION...CHRISTMAS LIGHTS IN MAY....I LOVE IT!

Saturday we went to the lake.....boy was it nice to be in Fresh water....even though it wasn't the nicest beach....not nice at all really....and the water was filled with seaweed....and Tyler and I even swam to the booie and back....that was gross AND super hard....my legs were hurting.....but it was fun! We had a great time hanging out, tossing Taelin in the lake, and soaking up some sun.

We had a campout in the front room saturday night, and Taelin fell asleep while playing with his toy....the sun must have wore him out pretty good

Memorial day was really fun too! We started the day by going to the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. So dry and so hot...but it was really cool to teach the kids why we celebrate Memorial day.

GREAT MEMORIAL DAY BBQ! Steaks, hot dogs, corn on the cob, rolls, potatoes, chili, rainbow fruit salad, and had smores after dinner! YUMMY!

Tuesday we headed home, and the drive wasn't bad at all. we didn't hit any traffic, and the kids did GREAT! We were able to listen to some conference talks, sleep, eat, and play....and we arrived home not to late...like 4pm...so we had enough time to un-pack and get ready for the week. GREAT TRIP! and very much needed!
